NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL Civic Centre, Motherwell ML1 1AB Notice is hereby given that a Petition was presented in the Court of Session on 25 October 2021 and accepted by the Court on 22 October 2021 by NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL, a local authority constituted under the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 and having their principal place of business at Civic Centre, Motherwell ML1 1AB for an Order under Section 75(2) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973. By interlocutor dated 28 October 2021, Lord Tyre appoints all parties having an interest to lodge Answers thereto, if so advised, within 21 days after intimation and advertisement. Gina Johnston, Solicitor for petitioner, Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP, 1 Exchange Crescent, Conference Square, Edinburgh EH3 8UL Email:gina.johnston@shepwedd.com Date: 5th November 2021 NOTE : the Petition seeks the consent of the Court for the appropriation, or as the case may be, the disposal, of certain land and buildings situated in Scotland, at Kildonan Street, Coatbridge. The Petition is necessary as Petitioners consider that subjects are part of their inalienable common good and require the authority of the court. The application is necessary for the redevelopment of the Municipal Building. The site is comprised by a complex of buildings located across three streets namely, Kildonan Street, Dunbeth Road and Muiryhall Street, together with their curtilage, which are currently empty, and surplus to the Petitioner's requirements for office, meeting, or other municipal use. The Petitioners consider the proposed development will provide much needed affordable social housing and help meet housing need in the local area as well as preserve an important part of the heritage of Coatbridge and ensure a use for the benefit of the community. A copy of the Petition and associated documents can be obtained from the above named solicitor.
