The force said they will be deploying additional police control in Kelvingrove Park in the city's West End, as temperatures are set to soar to highs of 15 degrees, according to the Met Office.

The park has previously been cleared due to incidents, and last month cops warned that alcohol found will be disposed of and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.

Glasgow Times:

Now, Police Scotland has said: "This weekend police will be carrying out additional patrols within Kelvingrove Park, working with our GCC colleagues to ensure it is a safe and enjoyable place for everyone.

"Please remember Glasgow City Council byelaws prohibit the consumption of alcohol in the park."

The byelaws, which prohibit the drinking of alcohol in public places, were introduced in August 1996 and amended in 2008.

Under these byelaws, subject to certain exceptions, any person who consumes alcohol or is found in possession of an open container containing alcohol will be found guilty of an offence.

This holiday weekend will also see Rangers and Celtic play on Saturday with kick-off at 12.30pm.
