UPDATE: HERE

RESIDENTS on a busy Glasgow street have been evacuated from their homes following a gas leak.

Officers say that they were alerted to the incident at around 3.45pm on Thursday, January 18, on Dixon Avenue in the city's Southside.

A source told the Glasgow Times cops have been spotted "all over" the area.

Due to the incident, the force has said several properties in the area have been evacuated as a 'precaution'.

They also confirmed engineers are on site and have identified the location of the leak.
