Detectives are searching for answers after the body of a man was discovered at a house in Newton Mearns.

The man, who has been identified as Leigh McCracken, was found inside a property on Anderson Drive on Friday August 10.

The death of the 37-year-old is currently being treated as 'unexplained' following a post mortem examination.

Police are trying to piece together Leigh's movements before his death with enquiries revealing he was last seen alive on Wednesday, July 25 at Eastwood Health Centre.

It is thought that the body could have lain unnoticed for weeks before police were called to the property.

Detective Inspector Craig McPhail, of Helen Street Police Office, said: “We are continuing to try and piece together the last movements of Leigh to help us with our enquiries.

“The last confirmed sighting we have of Leigh was on Wednesday, 25 July 2018 at Eastwood Health Centre. We are appealing to anyone who may have seen him or heard from Leigh either on this date or after.

“We have been checking CCTV and making door to door enquiries in the area but would ask anybody who knows her or lives in the area and has any information that can help us to please come forward and contact us.”
