SCOTRAIL has suspended a major south side service amid engineering work chaos.

Cathcart Circle has been halted as Glasgow Central experiences "severe disruption" due to engineering works at Rutherglen over running.

Multiple services are being hit by lengthy delays as Network Rail engineers work to remodel the Rutherglen East Junction.

The work will allow trains to cross at a higher speed as well as provide upgrades to signalling systems in the area.

Rail tickets are being expected on some bus routes.

Passengers have been advised to check ScotRail's website for updates.
