POLICE are searching for answers after a man was found seriously injured in the West End of Glasgow, with no recollection of what happened.

The man in his 30s was found injured by members of the public on University Avenue, near to Gilmorehill Hall in Hillhead around 4.20am on Sunday.

CCTV footage has revealed that a number of people walked and cycled past the injured man, who suffered significant facial injuries.

Detective Constable Jennifer Adams, Drumchapel CID, said: “Unfortunately the man does not know how he came about his injuries but contacted police a few days later as he thought he had been assaulted.

“Officers have been checking CCTV for the time and place of where he was found but so far there is nothing to show what exactly happened, however, what we can see is that a number of people walked passed him as well as a couple of cyclists riding by.

“The man is white, Scottish, around 6 ft 1 in height, of slim build, with long dark hair tied in a ponytail. He was wearing green coloured jeans, a white t-shirt and white trainers.

“The Saturday was the Scottish Cup Final and there were still plenty people about early on Sunday morning, so if you remember being in that area and have any information that will assist officers with their enquiries then, please give officers a call on 101 quoting reference number 3081/20 May 2018.”
