MUSIC fans are in mourning as news breaks that police have discovered a body in their search for missing Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison.
Hundreds of the band’s following have taken to social media to post heartbreaking messages, with many expressing how the 36-year-old’s music changed their lives.

Police in Edinburgh confirmed early on Friday morning that the body of a man was found at Port Edgar near South Queensferry at around 8.30pm on Thursday, May 10.
Originally from Selkirk, Scott was reported missing from Dennistoun in Glasgow, on Wednesday, May 9.

Social media was quickly inundated with messages as Scott’s name started to trend.
Tirion Haf wrote: “I’m not ready for this news, I. Will. Not. Believe. It. My heart is breaking for someone I’ve only ever seen on stage yet felt I knew so well.”

Daisy Aitken said: “No words. I am beyond devastated.”

“So very sad. A remarkable songwriter,” said another.
Another said: “What terribly sad news. Thank you for every night your songs walked me home, you lovely rabbit.”
One said: “Not the news I was hoping to wake up to. Gutted.”
John Hamilton said: “Shedding tears right now for Scott Hutchison. I will wake up hurting tomorrow.”
Dan Sheehan wrote: “An incredibly sad end to the search for Scott Hutchison. Watching Twitter updates while he was missing for the last two days really opened my eyes to just how many of his fans were helped through personal trauma by his music.”

“Can’t even begin to imagine how family and friends are feeling,” was another.
Ellen McCutchan quoted lyrics from the band’s 2008 song Soon Go: “I’ll soon go/I’ll be lost in the thoughts of tomorrow/And my warm heart, it will soon go home/And I won’t be cold/I’ll soon go.
“Rest easy, Scott Hutchison.”
Chris McCullough added: “Argh, this is heartbreaking. My heart goes out to Scott Hutchison and his family.”
The conversation also quickly turned to the topic of mental health.

One fan said: “As a nation we need to be better at supporting people with depression.”
Another wrote: “More really needs to be done about mental illness. Please is you need to talk do, no one will judge. #itsgoodtotalk.”
Jen Stewart-Ackroyd wrote: “Scott Hutchison’s lyrics were ones I kept close. So personal, I didn’t even share with others. I have nothing else I can say. I’m sorry you were hurting so much.”
Another fan said: “You’ll be missed, Scott Hutchison. Men, there’s no shame in seeking help. Speaking to someone about your mental health, it’s a universal issue, it happens to everyone. You are not alone.”
