RESIDENTS were evacuated and roads closed after an unexploded bomb was found on a building site.
Workmen made the discovery yesterday afternoon and emergency services were called around 4.45pm.
Navy Explosive Ordnance (EOD) was called to the building site near to Hallhill Road, in Springboig.
The item - believed to be an old piece of ordinance was removed from the scene to be tested and disposed of around 7.50pm this evening.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "All occupants were returned to their homes and surrounding roads have reopened."
A cordon around the scene has now been removed.
