FIREFIGHTERS tackled a car fire on a residential street in the early hours of this morning.
Crews rushed to Shawlands after 5am today after the alarm was raised.
The car was parked in Tantallon Road and it took around 50 minutes for firefighters to put out the blaze, and make the area safe.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 5.02am on Wednesday, April 11 to reports of a car on fire in Shawlands.
“Operations Control mobilised a single appliance to the scene at Tantallon Road, where firefighters extinguished the fire.
“Crews left at 5.52am after ensuring the area was made safe.”
