A GIFFNOCK babysitter has been voted as the best in Scotland.

Shabeena Hussain won the top regional title as part of Childcare.co.uk's inaugural Babysitter of the Year awards.

During January, the online childcare platform asked members of the public across the UK to vote for their favourite sitter and submit a short reason as to why they deserve to win.

Shabeena beat hundreds for the Scottish title and was cited as a worthy winner as she is fantastic with the kids she looks after, as well as being reliable and dependable.

Shabeena will now receive a year’s free membership to the site. Childcare.co.uk has also added a badge to her profile so that parents will be able to see that she owns the 2018 title for her region.

Richard Conway, founder of Childcare.co.uk, said: "Shabeena seems like a very deserving winner, she obviously goes above and beyond for the children she takes care of and is a true asset to the parents.

"I hope Shabeena takes full advantage of the crown she now wears, and I’d be interested to see if it generates some more wonderful families for her to work with.”

Childcare.co.uk is a platform that allows parents to search for and connect with babysitters, childminders, nannies, nurseries, private tutors and schools, and also allows childcare providers to advertise their services. The site has more than 1.5 million users nationwide and is the largest online community for parents in the UK having launched in 2009.
