SPIRITS were sky-high as Pop Idol heartthrob Gareth Gates took to the stage at a Glasgow pub.

The 33-year-old singer-songwriter, who rose to fame in the early noughties, was seen belting out some old favourites at The Bay Horse.

The Bath Street venue, which often invites well-known guests to the stage, hosted the event on Saturday night.

And Gareth was dressed to impress for the occassion, wearing a black patterned suit and hat, with his shirt unbuttoned at the top.

Gareth, who was the runner-up to Will Young on the first series of Pop Idol in 2002, had pubgoers singing and swaying as he sang on stage.

Anyone of Us, Spirit in the Sky and a rendition of Suspicious Minds were among the hits that revellers were treated to on the night.

Other guests that have previously appeared at the pub include Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy of boybands Westlife and Boyzone.

Former glamour model Katie Price's was also mocked by fans for her 'cringey' performance at the Glasgow pub.

Reality TV hunk Calum Best also made an appearance at the venue.
