A loveable St Bernard dog in Glasgow who has been seeking a new home for almost seven weeks is still looking for someone to come forward and claim him as theirs.

Eight-year-old Jackson - dubbed the “Big Friendly Giant” - was first revealed to the public in a Dogs Trust Glasgow appeal on September 11.

This week, though, it has emerged he is still looking for a forever home.

Described as a “big chap with an even bigger personality and slobbers to match,” the team at Dogs Trust Glasgow in Uddingston said this week: “He loves to potter to the park where his favourite thing to do is roll.

“He’s a huge fan of his grub but does like to have his own space when he is enjoying a tasty treat.”

Jackson needs an adult-only home and would be ideal with someone who has previous experience of owning big breeds.

A home with few visitors would be best as he would need slow introductions to new people.

He needs his own secure garden with easy access into the home and no stairs.

Jackson is also looking for a hands-off home that will give him time and space to settle and someone who can manage his size.

He needs several meets at the centre to build a relationship before going to his new home as this will make the settling process easier, The team’s training and behaviour advisor Julie Allan will be willing to help Jackson on his new adventure to a forever home.

He also needs to be the only dog in the home.
